Upgrade the electrical system on your first-gen single-battery Cummins with this complete heavy-duty hard-start kit. Built for 1989–1993 Dodge RAM 250 and 350 trucks with the 5.9L Cummins diesel.

Factory cables on these trucks commonly suffer from corrosion, voltage drop, and hard starting. This kit uses 3/0 positive and negative cables for maximum cranking current—the preferred choice for cold climates, snowplows, and heavy-use trucks.

Kit Includes

• 3/0 positive battery-to-starter cable
• 3/0 negative battery-to-block cable with 6-gauge lead
• 1 positive + 1 negative military-style battery terminal
• 2 lock nuts
• 1 set of terminal protector washers
• Protective loom
• 5 mountable + 5 standard zip ties
• Ring terminals to connect the relay wire

Important: Reuse the factory starter-relay wires. Ring terminals are included for that connection.

Why 3/0?
2/0 (#781) is the standard upgrade. This 3/0 hard-start kit puts larger cable on the starter and ground circuits for lower voltage drop and stronger cranking in extreme conditions.
