battery cables for Ford trucks

Hopefully you've found this page because you are looking for battery cables for a Ford Diesel F-250 or F-350.

Item Description:

I got the dimensions by measuring a set of cables sets that customers have sent to me.  I don't know what other years these will fit.  We've sold a bunch of these over the past 10 years however I suggest you take a look at your old cables and make sure these will fit before ordering.

Stock negative cables are 1/0 with #10 gauge chassis grounds.   Our negative cables are a heavier 2/0 with #4 gauge chassis grounds.  The stock positive cable uses 1/0 for the crossover, 2/0 for the starter and #6 for the fuse block.  We use 2/0 for the crossover, 2/0 for the starter and #4 for the fuse block.  The heavier gauge wire reduces resistance and might make starting a little easier.

We build our cables using cast copper battery terminals crimped to SAE SGX (or SGT for 3/0 cables) battery cable using a 12 ton hydraulic crimper.  Then we seal the connection with heavy wall adhesive lined heat shrink.  Anti-corrosion bolts and battery washers are included. We make the fuse block and chassis ground wires a little longer than stock since the #4 is not as flexible as the tiny wire the factory uses.

Convoluted loom now comes standard on the Ford positive cables.

Optional 3/0 Starter wire: Some customers have asked me for a 3/0 starter wire for very cold climates were every little bit helps.  It's now an option when ordering cables.

Military Ordinance/Universal Terminals: Using these terminals allows the customer to add as many electrical accessories as they want. They also have the advantage of being able to replace just the terminals and not the entire cable. We provide a nylox nut to help you make sure that the bolts remain tight.

48 inch 2/0 negative cable with leads on both ends (right). F250, F350 negative battery cable 1999 - 2003 85.98
113 dual battery positive with 34 inch terminal block wire. 99-03 ford f250 f350 dual battery positve battery cable 1997 - 2003 148.98

Note 1: On some years the factory positive cable had a big rubber grommet that held the cable in place as it passed thru a bracket.  Our positive cable does NOT come with the grommet used by the factory.  You will need to re-use the existing grommet or figure out some other way to protect the cable from damage. One customer I talked to used a piece of 3/4 inch heater hose to protect the wire instead of trying to cut the old grommet off.

Military ordnance battery terminal with wiresMilitary style cables combo:

Using these "military ordinance" terminals allows you to add as many electrical accessories as you want.  They also have the advantage of being able to replace just the terminals and not the entire cable. The down side is you must make sure that the bolts remain tight.  Battery terminal covers are now available for the military ordnance style terminals. See below to purchase.

Get cables built using Heavy Duty 3/8 lugs and Military style terminals. No charge - same price as our standard cables.
Military Ordnance / Universal battery terminal coverMilitary Ordnance/Universal Terminal Covers:
Red military terminal cover (1). Only $5.00
Black military terminal cover (1). Only $5.00

Add battery terminal covers to standard (not military)positive cable (1 right and 1 flag cover installed). Only $12.00
Add battery terminal cover (1 cover, installed) to standard negative cable (2 required for set). $4.00 Each
Replace the 51 inch 2/0 starter cable with optional larger 3/0 starter wire. Note:  The 3/0 is thicker than stock and will be more difficult to route.  The 3/0 starter lug is also larger.  One customer reported that they had to make minor modification using a roto-tool (aka Dremel) to get it to fit properly.    $12.80
