Welcome to CustomBatteryCables.com

I started building battery cables for my own truck (a 1948 Willy's CJ-2A) while in the "Diesel and Heavy Equipment" program at Maricopa Technical Community College (now GateWay).  I continued building them for various types of heavy construction equipment and lift trucks while working as a heavy equipment mechanic from 1979 to 1985 for companies like Mountain Bell (now Qwest), Naumann-Clark  (now Naumann-Hobbs, a forklift dealer) and Sunstate Equipment .

In 1985, I was going to school nights for a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.  I changed careers and went to work at Intel Corporation as an electronics technician in the Military Products Group.  During my 25 year electronic career, I have worked as a design engineer on chips that go into desktop computers, a failure analysis engineer on chips that go into anti-lock brake controllers and a test engineer for chips that go into cell phones.

In other words, I know about heavy duty trucks and I know about electronics and electrical systems.

In the 30 years since I made that first battery cable, I continued to make cables for my friend's cars and trucks as well as my own vehicles (since I couldn't buy good ones). In all that time, I have never had to replace a cable due to corrosion or over heat failure.  That's right!  I had battery cables on my 1948 Willy's CJ-2A that were 20 years old and were still working great when I replaced them to add a battery disconnect switch. 

Believing that there are others who want best heavy-duty, high-quality parts and disappointed by auto-store cables, I decided to start CustomBatteryCables.Com.  We build the cables at a friend's shop and operate this mail-order only part-time business out of my home office.
